The Halal, Safe and Healthy Palm Oil

The Company has implemented a Food Safety Management System (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point/HACCP) at its palm oil processing plant at PT Tanjung Sarana Lestari (PT TSL) and palm kernel oil processing plant at PT Tanjung Bina Lestari (PT TBL). This year, a recertification of the implementation of the Food Safety Management System referring to the latest standard/version, namely SNI 22000: 2018, has been conducted by a certification body appointed by the Company. Along with this recertification process, the Company added the scope of implementation in the Food Safety Management System to produce packaged cooking oil to ensure safety and hygiene. In addition, the Company is also committed to making halal products under Islamic Sharia. The Halal Assurance System (HAS) has been implemented for palm oil processed products, namely RBDPO, RBD Olein, RBD Stearin, and PFAD, produced by PT TSL since 2015. The products received a halal certificate from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) on 16 September 2015. In this year’s Halal System recertification process, the scope of certification has been added to the packaged cooking oil product plan to ensure that the raw materials, additives, auxiliary materials, and packaging materials used and the production process follow Islamic Sharia. In addition to PT TSL, PT TBL has also received a Halal Certificate from the Indonesian Ulema Council since 22 August 2017.

To ensure the successful implementation of the Halal System and SNI 22000, the Company has conducted a series of training and socialization of the Halal System and Food Safety Management System, as well as conducting regular internal audits and management reviews.
