MERANGIN, JAMBI – Dozens of Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) community members and Mekar Jaya Village residents in South Tabir District, Merangin Regency, participated in a national identity card registration drive and free healthcare services on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
This initiative demonstrates a collaborative effort to provide essential public services to local communities, especially vulnerable groups with limited access to civil registration and healthcare.
The program was made possible through a partnership among the Mekar Jaya Village Government, Merangin Regency Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil), PT Sari Aditya Loka (SAL), and Kelompok Makekal Bersatu (KMB), which has consistently supported the Suku Anak Dalam community in the Makekal area.
Residents arrived early to access services, including biometric registration for national identity cards facilitated by Civil Registration Office officers, as well as free medical consultations, health screenings, and treatment provided by PT SAL.
For the Suku Anak Dalam community, obtaining a national identity card is not just about receiving an official document; it is essential for exercising their rights as Indonesian citizens.
A valid identity card grants broader access to public services, government assistance programs, education, and healthcare.
“We sincerely appreciate the collaboration between the Merangin Civil Registration Office, PT SAL, and KMB in bringing these essential services closer to our community,” said Lasno, Head of Mekar Jaya Village.
“Programs like this greatly benefit our residents, particularly by making civil registration services and healthcare more accessible,” he added.
A similar appreciation was expressed by Sofya Rahman, Head of the Civil Registration Division at the Merangin Civil Registration Office. She emphasised that collaboration among stakeholders plays a vital role in extending administrative services to communities living far from government service centres.
“We highly appreciate PT Sari Aditya Loka for facilitating this initiative,” she said.
“Collaborations like this enable us to deliver civil registration services more effectively, including to Suku Anak Dalam communities living in remote areas,” she added.
Alongside civil registration, the free healthcare program was among the event’s most popular offerings. Residents received medical examinations, consulted healthcare professionals, and obtained treatment tailored to their needs.
For PT SAL, this initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life for communities near its operations, including indigenous groups that contribute to Jambi’s social and cultural diversity.
The company has implemented various community empowerment programs for the Suku Anak Dalam over many years.
In addition to supporting civil registration, PT SAL has expanded access to education, improved healthcare services, provided social assistance, and strengthened economic independence through partnership and capacity-building programs with various stakeholders.
Slamet Riyadi, representing the management of PT Sari Aditya Loka, stated that sustainable development should benefit every segment of society without exception.
“Through this collaboration, we want to ensure that all communities, including our brothers and sisters from the Suku Anak Dalam, have better access to essential public services,” he said.
“We believe that inclusive development can only be achieved through strong collaboration among stakeholders who share the same goal of improving community welfare,” he added.
The initiative also demonstrates PT SAL’s commitment to advancing sustainability by promoting social inclusion and community empowerment.
Through long-term partnerships, the company aims to deliver tangible benefits to local communities and support inclusive, sustainable development.
Aligned with Astra Agro’s sustainability vision, ‘Synergy Between People and Nature for One Indonesia,’ PT SAL believes meaningful progress is possible when governments, businesses, and communities work together.
By providing access to legal identity and essential healthcare, consistent small steps can create greater opportunities for a brighter, more inclusive future.
