RENGAT — Oil palm plantation company PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations (TPP) continues to support community development through the implementation of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. The company recently addressed two priority community needs: providing public cemetery land to the Sungai Air Putih Village Government in Sungai Lala District and supporting the renovation of the ceiling at Al-Mukhlisin Mosque in Serumpun Jaya Village, Pasir Penyu District, Indragiri Hulu Regency.
The implementation of the two programs followed a joint monitoring and evaluation process involving village governments and local communities, and this process was subsequently incorporated into the company’s CSR programs. Through a participatory approach, each initiative is designed to address actual community needs while delivering sustainable benefits.
In Sungai Air Putih Village, PT TPP provided approximately 5,000 square meters of land for a public cemetery. Meanwhile, in Serumpun Jaya Village, the company inaugurated assistance for the renovation of the 256-square-meter ceiling at Al-Mukhlisin Mosque.
Head of Sungai Air Putih Village, Juanda, S.Pd.I, expressed his appreciation for the company’s support in addressing one of the community’s important needs.
“We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations for providing this public cemetery land. This has been a longstanding concern for the village government because it serves the interests of the entire community,” Juanda said.
He expressed hope that the collaboration between the company and the village would continue to develop, enabling more programs that provide meaningful benefits to the community.
Similar appreciation was expressed by the Head of Serumpun Jaya Village, Jasrial, who said that the renovation of Al-Mukhlisin Mosque would improve the community’s comfort during religious activities.
“We would like to thank PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations for its assistance in renovating the ceiling of Al-Mukhlisin Mosque. With the mosque now in better condition, residents can worship more comfortably,” he said.
He added that the assistance represented the company’s tangible commitment and presence in responding to the community’s social and religious needs. He also expressed hope that the positive collaboration would continue through various development programs that benefit the community.
PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations Administrator Victor Aybund said that the implementation of CSR programs is part of the company’s contribution to community empowerment, with programs developed in a participatory manner alongside local communities and village governments.
According to him, the programs implemented by the company are not determined unilaterally, but are developed through dialogue, monitoring, and joint evaluation to ensure that they genuinely respond to evolving needs on the ground.
“For us, CSR is not merely about providing assistance. It serves as a platform for collaboration between the company, village governments, and communities to identify and address priority needs together. Through this approach, each program is expected to deliver tangible, targeted, and sustainable benefits for the community,” Victor said on Tuesday (August 11).
He added that the success of a program should be measured not only by the completion or handover of assistance, but also by the extent to which its benefits can continue to be enjoyed and maintained by the community.
“We hope that these facilities will be properly utilised, maintained, and cared for collectively. This type of collaboration serves as a foundation for a harmonious relationship between the company and the community, while also representing PT TPP’s contribution to sustainable development in the areas surrounding its operations,” he added.
Through these CSR programs, PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations continues to strengthen its commitment to creating meaningful benefits for communities while supporting sustainable village development.
