PANGKALAN BUN, Central Kalimantan – PT Gunung Sejahtera Puti Pesona (PT GSPP), a subsidiary of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, remains committed to supporting local communities by enhancing educational infrastructure and improving road access near its operations.
Waluyo, Head of Sungai Kuning Village, stated that the company’s support has delivered tangible benefits, especially by improving educational facilities and supporting local economic activities.
“We would like to express our appreciation to PT Gunung Sejahtera Puti Pesona for its support. The improvement of the school grounds and road access has been very helpful to the community, supporting educational activities, mobility, and the transportation of agricultural products,” said Waluyo.
PT GSPP deployed heavy equipment to level and improve the grounds of SDN 1 Sungai Kuning. This initiative aims to create a safer, more comfortable, and better-organized school environment that supports teaching and learning.
Previously, the company deployed heavy equipment to improve approximately eight kilometres of road connecting Kebun Agung Village and Arga Mulya Village, as well as access roads to community-managed plantations.
These road improvements are expected to enhance mobility, streamline the distribution of agricultural products, and support local economic growth.
Azizul Husni Reza, representing PT GSPP management, stated that this initiative reflects the company’s commitment to growing and developing with local communities.
“This programme is not only about providing physical infrastructure. It is part of our broader effort to create meaningful and sustainable benefits. We want PT GSPP’s presence to contribute to education, strengthen local economic activities, and improve the quality of life in surrounding communities,” said Azizul.
The event was attended by Kardi, Principal of SDN 1 Sungai Kuning, representatives of the Village Consultative Body (BPD), community leaders, and teaching staff. Collaboration among the company, village government, school, and local community is essential to ensure programmes address local needs and deliver meaningful impact.
