ROKAN HULU — PT Eka Dura Indonesia (EDI)’s commitment to environmental protection and management has been recognised by the Government of Rokan Hulu Regency. The oil palm plantation company operating in Rokan Hulu received a certificate in the “Highly Compliant” category as part of the 2026 assessment of corporate performance in environmental protection and management.
The recognition acknowledges PT EDI’s efforts to operate while prioritising environmental protection and management. The “Highly Compliant” rating reflects the company’s consistent efforts to meet environmental requirements and management standards.
The award was presented on Monday (August 17, 2026) at the Rokan Hulu Regent’s Office, coinciding with the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence. The certificate, signed by Regent Anton, recognises PT EDI’s performance in fulfilling regulatory requirements while carrying out its environmental protection and management duties within its operational areas.
PT Eka Dura Indonesia Community Development Officer (CDO), Tora, said the recognition reflects both an achievement and an ongoing responsibility for the company.
“The ‘Highly Compliant’ rating is both a source of pride and responsibility for PT Eka Dura Indonesia. For us, environmental management is not just about complying with regulations but is integral to the company’s sustainability. This achievement motivates us to continuously improve compliance, protect the environment, and benefit surrounding communities,” Tora said.
The company’s commitment is shown through various initiatives around its operational areas. PT EDI strengthens compliance with environmental requirements and implements programs for ecosystem conservation and preparedness against forest and land fire threats.
One such initiative is the planting of 1,000 trees along the Rokan River riparian area. The program aims to help preserve the river ecosystem while strengthening the ecological functions of the surrounding environment.
Preparedness for forest and land fires is strengthened through monitoring fire-prone areas, maintaining firefighting equipment and personnel readiness, and involving the community through the Fire-Aware Community (Masyarakat Peduli Api/MPA).
