PT. Subur Agro Makmur (SAM), a subsidiary of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, contributed to the preservation of culture and tradition by supporting the dragon boat race during the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence in Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency (HSS), South Kalimantan.
The competition, held at the LLASD Port in Tumbukan Banyu Village, South Daha District, attracted significant attention from the local community.
HSS Deputy Regent H. Suriani, who represented Regent H. Syafrudin Noor in Kandangan on Thursday, noted that the dragon boat race was not only about determining a winner but also served as an opportunity to strengthen sportsmanship, togetherness, and pride among the people of HSS.
“This competition is unique and meaningful as it promotes the value of unity amidst the diversity of society while preserving deeply-rooted cultural traditions,” he stated.
Andi H E Jaya, Administrator of PT Subur Agro Makmur, expressed that the company’s support for the dragon boat race is a tangible demonstration of social responsibility and highlights its closeness to the local community.
“For us, this event is an opportunity to grow together with the community. PT SAM’s support represents a significant contribution to reinforcing the values of togetherness, preserving local culture, and enhancing the community’s economic activities during the competition,” said Andi.
