RENGAT – Effective environmental management depends on strong stakeholder collaboration. Reflecting this commitment, PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations (PT TPP) has supported the revitalisation of the Pematang Reba Final Waste Disposal Site (TPA) in Batu Canai, Pematang Reba Village, West Rengat District, Indragiri Hulu Regency.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, PT TPP provided a bulldozer to support the landfill revitalisation project from 22–26 June 2026. This support was instrumental in transitioning the waste management system from open dumping to a controlled landfill, allowing for more organised, safer, and environmentally responsible waste handling.
The equipment was used to shape and level waste piles, cover waste with soil, and improve access within the landfill. These actions improved waste management by reducing odours, minimising windblown waste, limiting disease vectors, and lowering the risk of environmental pollution.
Elpahri Adha, Head of the Environmental, Sanitation, and Parks Agency (DLHKP) of Indragiri Hulu Regency, expressed appreciation for PT TPP’s contribution, noting it significantly accelerated the revitalisation of the Pematang Reba landfill.
“On behalf of the Government of Indragiri Hulu Regency, we would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations for its support in the revitalisation of the Batu Canai landfill. The heavy equipment provided has delivered tangible benefits in reorganising the landfill, which previously operated under an open dumping system and is now gradually transitioning to a controlled landfill. This transformation marks an important step toward establishing a better, more organised, and environmentally friendly waste management system. We hope the strong partnership between the Regency Government and PT TPP will continue to grow in support of environmental conservation initiatives across Indragiri Hulu.”
Victor Aybund, a representative of PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations Management, stated that sustainable development requires close collaboration with government institutions and local communities.
“At PT TPP, we believe that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility. Through our support for the revitalisation of the Pematang Reba landfill, we aim to make a meaningful contribution that directly benefits the community. We hope this initiative will strengthen the waste management system in Indragiri Hulu, delivering long-term environmental benefits and serving as an investment in a healthier environment for future generations,” Victor said.
PT TPP’s support for the Pematang Reba landfill revitalisation demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to positive social and environmental impact through its CSR initiatives. Collaboration with the local government highlights the shared belief that sustainable development depends on active stakeholder participation.
Aligned with the spirit of “Synergy for the Earth and Humanity for One Indonesia,” PT TPP, a member of the Astra Agro group, remains committed to supporting environmental conservation and enhancing community well-being through long-term collaboration.
