Kurnia was part of the first graduation cohort for the 2025/2026 academic year, held by Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi from September 22 to 24, 2026. On the final day, 534 graduates participated in the ceremony.
They comprised 127 graduates from the Professional Nursing Program, 154 from the Nursing Applied Bachelor’s Program (STR), 78 from the Diploma III Nursing Program, 39 from the Diploma III Dental Health Program, and 136 from the Dental Therapy Applied Bachelor’s Program (STR). Among the hundreds of graduates was Kurnia, whose educational journey tells a story of perseverance and determination.
Since elementary school, Kurnia had dreamed of pursuing a career in healthcare. However, that ambition was once accompanied by uncertainty.
The cost of education, living in Jambi City far from her family, and adapting to a new environment were among the challenges she had to consider. An opportunity eventually came through educational support from PT Sari Aditya Loka (SAL).
This support paved the way for Kurnia to pursue higher education at Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi, majoring in the Diploma III Nursing Program. The journey was not always easy. Kurnia had to leave her family behind and adjust to student life in Jambi City. Nevertheless, her determination to achieve her dream kept her going until she completed her studies.
Kurnia completed her final project examination in June 2026 and was declared a graduate. Now, on Thursday, September 24, 2026, she has joined her fellow graduates in the commencement ceremony. The occasion marks a significant milestone in her journey.
From Bukit Suban Village, Kurnia successfully pursued higher education in healthcare and completed her nursing studies. The graduation ceremony also marks the beginning of her journey into the workforce as she takes steps toward realizing her dream of becoming a healthcare professional. The educational support she received from PT SAL has played an important role in making this journey possible.
The opportunity to pursue higher education has gradually transformed what Kurnia had imagined since childhood into reality. For her, reaching the graduation stage is about more than earning a degree.
Education has opened doors to a brighter future while bringing her closer to her aspiration of making a meaningful contribution to society.
Meanwhile, Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi graduated a total of 2,122 students during the first graduation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic year, held over three days.
The series of events began with Seloko Adat, a traditional Jambi customary address, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an. The ceremony then proceeded with the opening of the Senate Open Session and the reading of the official decree confirming the graduates’ completion of their studies.
The Director of Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi, Dr. Rusmimpong, S.Pd., M.Kes., delivered a report on the graduation proceedings and congratulated all graduates on completing their education. He expressed his hope that graduation would represent not only an academic achievement but also the beginning of a new chapter in which alumni apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout their studies.
According to him, graduates of Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi are expected to bring their educational experience into the wider community and contribute in accordance with their respective professional fields. Rusmimpong also encouraged all graduates to continue developing their capabilities, maintaining professionalism, and upholding the values essential to providing quality services to the public.
With the graduation ceremonies concluded, the graduates are now preparing for the next stage of their journeys, whether by pursuing further education or entering the workforce as healthcare professionals.
