Products that were once known only within local communities are now reaching broader markets, including international destinations. From handicrafts and agricultural products to spices and local specialties, rural communities are given the opportunity to demonstrate that locally made products can compete on a global stage.
Meanwhile, in Astra’s assisted communities, change is fostered through simple yet meaningful collective actions. Residents learn how to manage waste, make better use of green spaces, maintain environmental cleanliness, and adopt healthier lifestyles. Gradually but steadily, these communities are transforming into cleaner, more comfortable, productive, and resilient places that are better prepared to face future challenges.
Most importantly, the success of DSA and KBA cannot be measured solely by numbers or program achievements. Their true impact is reflected in the creation of new employment opportunities, enhanced community skills, growing confidence among residents, and stronger collaboration in building and improving their own communities. To date, more than 1,500 villages and communities have become part of this journey.

The Impact of DSA and KBA Across Indonesia
In 2024, Astra supported a total of 1,515 villages and communities through the DSA and KBA programs. Of these, 145 locations became part of the Climate Village Program (PROKLIM), supporting climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts. During the same year, Astra expanded its reach by adding 84 new DSA villages and 35 new KBA communities.

The DSA program has reached communities throughout Indonesia, with the largest concentration located on Java Island. The distribution of DSA-assisted villages includes 751 villages in Java, 223 in Sumatra, 179 in Kalimantan, 168 in Bali and Nusa Tenggara, 119 in Sulawesi, 72 in Maluku, and 21 in Papua.
