PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk has reaffirmed its commitment to providing tangible benefits to the community and environment through sustainable business practices. This commitment was highlighted at a social gathering and communal iftar in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, which aimed to strengthen relationships and enhance collaboration with stakeholders, including local government, the community, and the media.
Agus Budiarto, Head of Astra Agro’s South Kalimantan Area, stated that sustainability is only possible when both the company and the community grow and develop together.
“Astra Agro continues to strengthen initiatives that deliver tangible benefits and foster collaboration to ensure transparency and broad impact from our programmes,” he said.
Aligned with its Sustainability Aspirations, Astra Agro implements the 3P Roadmap strategy, focusing on Portfolio, People, and Public Contribution as the foundation for responsible business practices.
Joko Subagio, Social Engagement Manager, explained that this commitment is realized through a village-based corporate social responsibility programme with four main pillars: Astra Kreatif, Astra Sehat, Astra Cerdas, and Astra Hijau. The programme promotes village self-reliance by strengthening SMEs, improving health services through Posyandu, providing educational support, and encouraging environmental conservation.
These initiatives are implemented through the Astra Prosperous Village programme, which aims to create a targeted and sustainable impact for village communities. By collaborating with local governments, village institutions, and the community, Astra Agro is committed to expanding the programme’s reach to help villages become more self-reliant, empowered, and prosperous.
