Astra Agro Lestari’s assistance to flood-affected areas in Sumatra aims to ease victims’ suffering and support recovery efforts. Director and Corporate Secretary Tingning Sukowignjo expressed sincere condolences for the loss of life, injuries, and material damage experienced by those affected.
“Our current priority is to prioritize humanity and coordinate with relevant parties to ensure that aid (food, medicine, basic necessities) is delivered quickly and accurately to the affected victims,” he stated in a written statement on Friday, December 5, 2025.
After the floods, Astra Agro, through its association, provided aid to victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
Not only through associations, but Astra Agro also took direct initiatives, breaking through disconnected and difficult access to distribute aid. In addition to working through associations, Astra Agro took direct action to overcome challenging conditions and deliver aid to 10 villages in Aceh Singkil and West Aceh districts. Naldi expressed his appreciation for this step. He expressed gratitude for the donation provided by Astra Agro to its citizens, who quickly sent aid.
The Secretary of Ketapang Indah Village, Ali Nurdin, also thanked the company for addressing the needs of flood-affected residents. He noted that logistical support, including food staples, has helped those with limited access obtain essential supplies.
Astra Agro consistently follows sustainable plantation practices in compliance with regulations and certification standards such as ISPO and RSPO, which govern the management of buffer zones, riverbanks, and high conservation value areas (HCV).
Astra Agro actively protects High Conservation Value (HCV) areas, monitors biodiversity-sensitive zones, and ensures that operations do not negatively impact the environment or local communities.
