At the East Kalimantan Province Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Awards Ceremony in 2025, held at the Sempaja Samarinda Plenary Hall, both subsidiaries of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk. (Astra Agro) Successfully received the Zero Accident award.
This award was presented by the East Kalimantan Provincial Government as recognition of companies that have implemented best practices in ensuring worker safety and sustainable operations. Through this award, the government aims to emphasize that a company’s success is not only measured by numerical achievements, but also by its ability to protect its employees, who are a vital part of the company’s productivity.
East Kalimantan Deputy Governor Seno Aji expressed appreciation to all award recipients. “We extend our highest appreciation to the companies receiving this year’s K3 awards. We hope this award is not just for show, but will continue to be realized in the company’s operational management,” he stated. He also noted the ongoing challenge of an insufficient number of company supervisors in East Kalimantan. With only about 50 supervisors, monitoring the tens of thousands of workers in the region requires special attention.
“Going forward, we request the Central Government to increase the number of supervisors in East Kalimantan. With this addition, companies can be assessed and evaluated every month, so employees are further away from incidents,” he said.
The Head of the East Kalimantan Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office, Rozani Erawadi, added that this award is part of efforts to encourage improved quality of protection for workers. “The success of a company is not only measured by production achievements, but also by how they protect the safety of their workers,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Aris Wahyudi, the Expert Staff to the Minister of Manpower in the Field of Manpower Economics, emphasized that implementing an OSH culture is a long-term investment. “When workers feel safe and protected, the company’s productivity and competitiveness will also grow,” he stated.
