PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AAL) has recently attained a noteworthy recognition by winning the 2024 Paritrana Award in the large company category for the agricultural, plantation, livestock, and fisheries sectors at the DKI Jakarta Provincial level.
This accolade, awarded by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, underscores the company’s steadfast commitment to providing optimal social security protection for all workers, which includes permanent employees, working partners, and non-wage earners (BPU).
“This award serves as tangible evidence of Astra Agro’s commitment to ensuring labor protection through comprehensive participation in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, consistent with our goal of cultivating a safe, healthy, and prosperous work environment,” stated Yoka Raditya Ranu Prana, a representative from Astra Agro’s Human Capital Unit, during an official announcement on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
The Paritrana Award is conferred upon business entities that demonstrate a high level of compliance in the implementation of the employment social security program while actively contributing to the protection of workers. This year, Astra Agro achieved first place after competing against significant entities such as PT Pupuk Indonesia and Perhutani.
During the award ceremony, the Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta, Marullah Matali, articulated that the Paritrana Award’s objective is to reinforce the commitment and collaboration among diverse parties to foster an inclusive, safe, and sustainable employment ecosystem. Furthermore, it motivates all stakeholders, from the central government to local administrations, to extend Jamsostek protection to informal workers and vulnerable groups, thereby facilitating the achievement of universal Jamsostek coverage in Jakarta.
Throughout the assessment process, Astra Agro consistently demonstrated its dedication to fulfilling labor protection obligations. From 2019 to 2023, the company ensured that all employees were 100% covered by the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan program. Additionally, Astra Agro extends protection to non-wage earners, particularly transportation partners, who number between 1,500 and 2,000 individuals.
The company continuously enhances the implementation of its digital monitoring system through the JMO application. Moreover, Astra Agro guarantees that all supply chain partners, including 493 outsourcing workers from service provider companies, are registered under the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan program in accordance with the terms outlined in their cooperation agreements.
For Astra Agro, social security protection constitutes an essential aspect of creating a sense of security for all individuals involved in the business process. This commitment aligns with the company’s goal of achieving Zero Fatal Accidents by strengthening the roles of inspectors and K3 communities across all operational areas.
Furthermore, this commitment is consistent with the People Roadmap delineated in Astra Agro’s Sustainability Aspirations 2030, which prioritizes the protection and well-being of its workforce as a fundamental component of its sustainability strategy.
Astra Agro emphasizes the necessity of providing social protection for all workers, including permanent employees, outsourced workers, partners, and informal workers. The company remains dedicated to promoting competence and career development, fostering an inclusive and adaptive work environment, and implementing transparent measurement and reporting concerning essential people indicators, such as BPJS coverage, competence development, and job satisfaction.
This approach allows Astra Agro to not only concentrate on protection but also to build trust and sustainably enhance the quality of life for its workers.
“Through this award, we are further motivated to create a broader positive impact on workers, partners, and the surrounding community through various sustainable social protection programs,” explained Yoka.
