EAST KUTAI — The ongoing dry season has made it difficult for residents of Marah Haloq Village KM 25, RT 06, to access clean water. In response, PT Karyanusa Ekadaya (KED) has distributed clean water directly to the community.
Limited access to clean water has impacted residents’ ability to meet basic needs such as drinking, cooking, bathing, and washing. This assistance demonstrates the company’s commitment to social responsibility and support for communities near its operations during the drought.
“On behalf of the Marah Haloq Village Government, we would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to the management of PT KED for providing clean water distribution assistance to residents of RT 06 KM 25, particularly as they face the prolonged dry season,” said Marah Haloq Village Head Gusti Mandala on Friday (September 4, 2026).
Gusti stated that the clean water assistance has been essential in meeting residents’ daily needs during the dry season. He noted that PT KED’s initiative reflects the company’s genuine concern for the communities near its operations.
The assistance was delivered directly to residents in need. Water from the tanker truck was transferred via hoses into containers such as jerry cans, drums, and tanks. The Engineering Team supported the filling process to ensure orderly distribution, especially for those unable to collect water themselves.
“The distribution of clean water assistance to the people of Marah Haloq Village is a manifestation of the company’s concern and commitment to supporting communities affected by the prolonged dry season in East Kutai,” said Tedy Perdana, a representative of PT KED Management.
“The limited availability of clean water experienced by the community is a concern for the company, as water is one of the most essential basic needs for supporting daily life. Therefore, PT KED, through its Engineering Team, took the initiative to provide clean water directly to the community as a tangible form of support in addressing the drought conditions,” Tedy added.
The Marah Haloq Village Government expressed hope that this assistance would further strengthen relations and communication between the company and nearby communities.
“We hope that the good relationship and communication between PT KED and the community can continue and be further strengthened. Assistance and initiatives such as clean water distribution are expected to remain part of the company’s positive contribution to supporting communities, particularly when they face emergencies or resource limitations caused by natural factors,” Gusti concluded.
