SB, PANGKALAN BUN — Road access is an essential need for communities in remote areas. In response to this need, PT Surya Indah Nusantara Pagi (SINP) and PT Persada Bina Nusantara Abadi (PBNA) have reaffirmed their commitment to community welfare through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) infrastructure improvement program.
The two companies have carried out road improvements along approximately 8 kilometers, connecting Pangkut Urban Village, Sukarami Village, and Gandis Village in Arut Utara District, West Kotawaringin Regency.
The improvements aim to enhance road conditions along a key route used by communities within the companies’ Ring 1 operational areas. Better road access is expected to facilitate residents’ mobility, support economic activities, and improve the distribution of locally produced goods.
To accelerate the work and accommodate road conditions in the field, PT SINP-PBNA deployed heavy equipment owned by the companies.
The initiative received appreciation from Arut Utara District Head Sapirudin, who also visited the site to observe the road improvement activities firsthand.
According to Sapirudin, corporate involvement in infrastructure development provides direct benefits to the community, particularly residents who rely on the road for their daily activities.
“Thank you to PT SINP-PBNA for its assistance in improving this infrastructure. We greatly appreciate the company’s contribution. With better road access, community activities will become easier, and we hope this will also help stimulate economic development in the Arut Utara area,” Sapirudin said.
Appreciation was also expressed by Yoner, a community leader in Arut Utara. He noted that corporate support for community infrastructure needs plays an important role in fostering positive relationships between businesses and surrounding communities.
He added that development cannot be achieved by any single party alone. Therefore, synergy among companies, district and village governments, and local communities must continue to be strengthened so that priority needs can be addressed collaboratively.
“We hope this kind of support will continue. Collaboration between companies, the government, and the community is essential to resolving priority needs together and ensuring that the benefits are genuinely felt by local residents,” Yoner said.
Meanwhile, Purwanto, a representative of PT SINP-PBNA management, stated that the road improvement project reflects the companies’ commitment to delivering tangible benefits to communities surrounding their operational areas.
He emphasized that the companies’ presence in the community should extend beyond operational activities and contribute meaningfully to the development of the surrounding areas.
“A company’s presence should deliver tangible benefits to the community. Improving this inter-village road is not only about meeting infrastructure needs but also about creating greater opportunities for community mobility and accelerating economic activities across the three Ring 1 areas,” Purwanto said.
He added that community support programs are implemented on an ongoing basis, both through consortium initiatives and in response to aspirations and needs expressed by communities around the companies’ operational areas.
The approximately 8-kilometer road improvement project is expected to deliver broader benefits to residents of Pangkut Urban Village, Sukarami Village, and Gandis Village.
In addition to facilitating daily travel, improved road conditions are expected to support the transportation and distribution of locally produced goods, helping reduce travel time and minimize obstacles to economic activities.
PT SINP-PBNA hopes the infrastructure improvements will contribute to stronger interregional connectivity while further strengthening relationships between the companies and local communities.
For the companies, CSR is not merely about providing assistance; it is part of their commitment to creating sustainable benefits in the areas surrounding their operations.
With improved road access, community mobility is expected to become smoother, economic activities to grow, and synergy among companies, the government, and communities in Arut Utara District to remain strong.
