Jakarta – PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk has received the Green Economy Award (Anugerah Ekonomi Hijau) for Digital Innovation in Plantation Operations Management and for its Strategic Role in the Transformation of a Sustainable Plantation Industry.
The awards were presented at the detikcom Green Economy Awards 2026, held at Menara Bank Mega on Thursday (September 3, 2026).
The Green Economy Award for the Strategic Role in the Transformation of a Sustainable Plantation Industry was specifically presented to Tingning Sukowignjo, Director of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk.
Tingning has been instrumental in advancing responsible, efficient, and sustainable plantation practices. The company focuses on measurable environmental management, supply chain traceability, and community empowerment as key elements of its sustainability strategy.
This commitment is demonstrated by ongoing efforts to reduce carbon emissions through energy efficiency at palm oil mills, optimize methane capture systems to generate energy, use biofertilizer (ASTEMIC) to decrease inorganic fertilizer use, and expand renewable energy adoption, including B40 biodiesel across operations.
In 2025, Astra Agro successfully reduced its Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 35.69%, against a target of 30% by 2030, based on the 2019 baseline. The company also recorded a renewable energy mix of 92.30%, with a target of reaching 93.40% by 2030.
Astra Agro remains committed to ensuring its operations do not adversely affect the environment or surrounding communities.
Astra Agro recognises the importance of supply chain traceability and transparency. The company has achieved 100% traceability of its CPO suppliers to the mill level, as documented in quarterly reports. Supplier information is also publicly available on the company’s website.
Astra Agro also supports community empowerment near its operations through its CSR Program, which focuses on Health, Education, Environment, and Entrepreneurship.
Throughout 2025, the Astra Agro CSR Program reached 256 villages, 51 subdistricts, 20 regencies, and 8 provinces. Through Astra Kreatif, the company supported 230 productive business groups, benefiting a total of 2,081 people.
Astra Sehat reached 335 integrated health service posts (posyandu), involving thousands of health cadres, young children, pregnant women, and elderly people. Astra Cerdas supported hundreds of schools, teachers, and students through incentives, training, and scholarships. Meanwhile, Astra Hijau developed environmental cadres and promoted environmental conservation through plastic reduction campaigns and the planting of 25,121 trees.
