As a clear demonstration of support for the advancement of the local press and media, PT Perkebunan Lembah Bhakti (PLB), a subsidiary of PT Astra Agro Lestari, Tbk, received the “Citra Karsa Awards 2025” from the Press Company Association (SPS). This award honors companies that actively support the mass media ecosystem, particularly local media.
“The SPS Awards event celebrates institutions, both governmental and private, that foster positive relationships with the media and contribute to the media ecosystem in Indonesia,” stated Januar P. Ruswita, the General Chairman of the Press Company Union, at Anjong Mon Mata in Banda Aceh on Monday evening, October 20, 2025.
During the event, M. Nasir, representing the Governor of Aceh, opened the ceremony. He emphasized that the award presented by SPS is not only a recognition but also a mandate to sustain collaboration with the press in building a healthy, balanced, and enlightening information ecosystem.
The Citra Karsa Awards are part of a series celebrating the 79th anniversary of SPS, centered around the theme “Advanced Press, Indonesia’s Resources on the Move,” which will take place in Banda Aceh and Sabang from October 20 to 23, 2025. This award category is designed to reinforce collaboration between the business sector and the press, aiming to cultivate a healthy, professional, and sustainable ecosystem.
PT PLB, located in Aceh Singkil, has made significant contributions through various social and environmental programs and local community development initiatives. As a subsidiary of Astra Agro, PT PLB not only manages oil palm plantations but is also actively engaged in environmental sustainability efforts, such as planting mangroves in collaboration with the Aceh Singkil Environmental Agency and local farmers. Additionally, this palm oil plantation company supports a horticultural seedling assistance program for its mentored farmers, as part of its commitment to empower the economy of a local community.
By winning the Citra Karsa Awards 2025, PT PLB affirms its dedication not only to business but also to a broader social responsibility, including environmental protection, community welfare enhancement, and strengthening media literacy in the region. Serving as a strategic partner to local media, PT PLB contributes to reinforcing the role of the press as a pillar of democracy, development communication, and community empowerment.
“We are honored to receive the Citra Karsa Awards 2025 from SPS. This recognition motivates us to continue implementing programs that are not only sustainable from a business perspective but also positively impact the community and local media in Aceh Singkil,” said Riki Agus Rinaldy, the Administrator of PT PLB. Teguh Arief Wibowo, the Community Development Officer at PT PLB, added that local media are crucial partners in disseminating information, enhancing literacy, and building public trust.
“We will continue to collaborate and maintain strong relationships with the media and the press community in our region. Thank you to our media friends, especially those in Aceh Singkil and Subulussalam, for their continued support of PT PLB over the years,” remarked Teguh. This recognition is expected to foster ongoing collaboration with local media, encompassing the publication of CSR programs, environmental initiatives, and community activities in Aceh Singkil. The dual benefit of this partnership will be a strengthened position for local media in delivering accurate and accountable information, alongside enhancing PT PLB’s reputation as a responsible business entity.
With the spirit of “Press Forward, Indonesia’s Resources Advance,” this moment is anticipated to catalyze greater synergy among companies, media, government, and local communities, ensuring that development in areas like Aceh Singkil proceeds inclusively, sustainably, and with the full support of all stakeholders.
