In response to increasing global demands for sustainable business practices, notable examples have emerged from corporations that prioritise compassion and humanity in their core values. Corporate success is increasingly measured by the extent to which a company generates meaningful impacts for surrounding communities and the environment.
The recent awards received by Astra Agro at The Best Corporate Transparency and Emission Reduction Awards 2026 demonstrate the company’s consistent implementation of sustainable business practices. At the event organised by Investortrust.id, Astra Agro received two distinctions: Green Achievement in Emission Reduction and Diamond Achievement in Emission Transparency.
These recognitions are awarded to companies that demonstrate concrete efforts in emission reduction and prioritise verified transparency as integral components of environmentally responsible business practices. For Astra Agro, these awards represent not only corporate achievements but also a reflection of the company’s long-term commitment to community development and environmental sustainability in its operational areas.
In 2025, Astra Agro reinforced its commitment to communities through four primary pillars of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): economy, health, education, and environment. The implementation of these CSR programs enabled the company to reach 256 villages across 51 sub-districts, 20 regencies, and eight provinces, utilising approaches tailored to local community needs.
The impact of the company’s community development programs has increased annually. In 2025, the number of beneficiaries reached 142,625, compared to 135,997 in 2024 and 131,521 in 2023. This progress aligns with Astra Agro’s broader mission to reach a cumulative target of 200,000 beneficiaries by 2030.
Within the economic sector, Astra Agro introduced the Astra Kreatif program, supporting 230 productive business groups and benefiting 2,081 individuals. This program provides a platform for communities to enhance economic independence and create business opportunities based on local potential.
Under the health pillar, through the Astra Sehat program, the company supports 335 active integrated health service posts (posyandu) that serve thousands of health cadres, toddlers, pregnant women, and elderly citizens. The program strengthens access to basic healthcare services and promotes healthy living awareness within surrounding communities.
Through its education pillar, Astra Cerdas supports improvements in educational quality by providing incentives, training, and scholarships to hundreds of schools, teachers, and students. This support aims to prepare the younger generation to address future challenges.
Astra Agro’s environmental commitment is demonstrated through Astra Hijau. In 2025, the company enhanced environmental cadre development, conducted plastic waste reduction campaigns, and planted 25,121 trees across its operational areas. These programs are regularly monitored to ensure effectiveness, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
Astra Agro’s social commitment is further demonstrated through community development programs for the Suku Anak Dalam (Orang Rimba) indigenous community. In collaboration with the Forum Kemitraan Pembangunan Sosial Suku Anak Dalam (FKPS-SAD), the company implements integrated programs that provide support for 331 families (1,252 individuals), educational access for 412 children, healthcare services including family planning and medical treatment, and administrative assistance through the issuance of 898 identity cards (KTP) and facilitation of government social aid programs.
Additionally, the company supports 37 families in the Bukit Duabelas National Park area by constructing traditional houses and strengthening crop cultivation programs. Astra Agro has also established Agricultural Learning Centres (ALCs) in Suluh Rimbo Sikar and Suluh Rimbo Air Panas to enhance the community’s agricultural capacity.
These sustainability initiatives are grounded in Astra’s Catur Dharma philosophy, which asserts that business success must be accompanied by contributions to society and the environment. Astra Agro operationalizes these values through its Triple-P Roadmap, which encompasses Portfolio, People, and Public Contribution, with Governance as the foundation of corporate integrity and ethical conduct.
Through the Portfolio pillar, Astra Agro advances transformation toward efficient, low-carbon agribusiness practices supported by technological innovation. The People pillar prioritizes employee welfare, safety, and competency development as key organizational strengths. Public Contribution is achieved through community empowerment programs, biodiversity conservation initiatives, and cross-sector collaborations that generate shared value for communities surrounding the company’s operational areas.
This recognition further affirms that, for Astra Agro, sustainability is achieved not only through business innovation and emission reduction, but also by delivering tangible benefits that directly impact communities over time.
