Siak – PT Kimia Tirta Utama (KTU) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting community development and improving public welfare through various social initiatives that deliver tangible benefits. One such initiative is the improvement of the Simpang Astra Pos 1 Road in Pangkalan Pisang Village, Koto Gasib District, Siak Regency, carried out on May 7, 2026.
The road improvement project reflects the company’s commitment to providing communities with safe, reliable infrastructure. The road serves as one of the main access routes connecting residents of Pangkalan Pisang Village to the regency’s primary road network, making it a vital link for daily mobility and economic activities.
The initiative received appreciation from the Head of Koto Gasib District, Wendy Masrizal, who emphasised the importance of the road for local residents.
“We highly appreciate PT KTU for demonstrating its commitment to the people of Pangkalan Pisang Village through the improvement of the Simpang Astra Pos 1 Road. This road is a key access route for the community, and the benefits of the improvement are directly felt by road users,” said Wendy.
He further noted that PT KTU has consistently contributed to community development through various empowerment programs and infrastructure support initiatives for surrounding communities.
PT KTU Management Representative, Teddy Yohendra Siregar, stated that the company remains committed to delivering meaningful contributions through infrastructure support programs that provide direct benefits to local communities.
“Simpang Astra Pos 1 Road is an important route for many residents of Pangkalan Pisang Village. Therefore, ensuring that the road remains in good condition and can be used safely and effectively by the community is one of our priorities,” Teddy explained.
To carry out the project, PT KTU, through its Technical and Infrastructure teams, deployed personnel, gravel and crushed stone, and heavy equipment, including a compactor and five dump trucks, to accelerate the road improvement process.
In addition to road repairs, the company consistently conducts road watering to enhance road users’ comfort, particularly by reducing dust exposure during the dry season.
“This improvement effort was undertaken to restore the road’s condition and ensure it remains safe and functional for the community. We hope that better infrastructure will help facilitate residents’ daily activities and support local economic development,” Teddy added.
This initiative forms part of PT KTU’s broader commitment to fostering harmony between people and the environment for a stronger Indonesia, through collaborative, mutually beneficial relationships with communities surrounding its operational areas.
