PT Subur Agro Makmur (SAM), a subsidiary of Astra Agro Lestari, held a commemoration of Nuzulul Qur’an at Sabilul Jannah Mosque, located within the company’s premises in Bajayau Village, Daha Barat Sub-district, Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS) Regency, South Kalimantan.
The activity was organised to strengthen spiritual values during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijri, marking the revelation of the Holy Qur’an while also providing assistance to orphaned children.
Event Coordinator Yulianto stated that the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to fostering piety and social care within the surrounding community.
“In the spirit of Ramadan, PT SAM’s management also extended assistance to orphaned children as part of our social responsibility,” he said in an official statement.
A total of 29 orphaned children received support, comprising 19 children from villages surrounding the company and 10 children from within the company’s operational area.
On the same occasion, the company also presented prizes to winners of previously held competitions aimed at encouraging creativity among children in the community.
In addition, Ramadan Safari aid packages were distributed to prayer halls across the company’s operational area, along with support provided to representatives of Afdeling prayer hall management as part of the company’s contribution to places of worship.
Yulianto expressed appreciation for the active participation of both employees and the surrounding community, noting that the activity further strengthened the relationship between the company and local stakeholders.
“We are grateful for the successful implementation of this activity, which brought together the company and the community in a spirit of togetherness and compassion,” he added.
Meanwhile, PT SAM Administrator Andi HE Jaya reaffirmed the company’s commitment to continuously contributing to the community as a reflection of gratitude and care.
He expressed hope that the assistance provided would bring meaningful benefits to the recipients and blessings for the company’s operations.
The commemoration featured a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Qari Ananda Muhammad Raihan, followed by a religious sermon delivered by Ustadz Ahmad Sirajuddin, who encouraged attendees to embody the values of the Qur’an in their daily lives and work.
The event concluded with a communal iftar and Maghrib prayers, creating a moment of togetherness among participants.
The activity was attended by the Head of Daha Barat Sub-district, representatives of local police and military authorities, as well as village heads from the surrounding areas.
