PT Mamuang distributed piglets to the Maju Jaya Women’s Farmers’ Group in Rio Mukti Village, Rio Pakava Sub-district, Donggala Regency, on Wednesday. This programme forms part of the company’s efforts to empower women economically, carried out in collaboration with the NGO Relawan untuk Orang dan Alam (ROA).
The company provided 30 piglets to the group, which consists of 24 village women. This initiative supports the company’s sustainability goals, and the group also received livestock management training to encourage long-term business growth.
Nengah Wantri, Chief of the Maju Jaya Women’s Farmers’ Group, thanked PT Mamuang and ROA for their support. She emphasised that this assistance provides essential capital for the group to build productive enterprises.
“This assistance is not merely livestock seedlings, but also a new hope for us to develop productive enterprises. May this programme mark a turning point for the economic transformation of our community towards a better future,” she said.
Idris Lambang, Head of Rio Mukti Village, expressed hope that group members will manage the assistance effectively to enhance community welfare.
“I urge all members of the Maju Jaya group to uphold this trust with the utmost responsibility. Manage your livestock well, attend the training sessions that will be provided, and use this programme as a foundation for working together to build the prosperity of our village,” he said.
Meanwhile, Riky Agusrinaldy, a representative of PT Mamuang’s management, said the programme was a form of collaboration between the company and the community to promote productive economic activities in the village.
“We believe that productive activities such as pig farming can serve as a gateway to improving family livelihoods whilst strengthening the role of women in village development. PT Mamuang is committed to continuing to support the community so that the benefits of this programme can be felt sustainably,” he said.
The aid handover was carried out symbolically by PT Mamuang’s Administrator, Riky Agusrinaldy, to the Chairperson of the Maju Jaya Women Farmers’ Group, Nengah Wantri. The event was also witnessed by the Village Head of Rio Mukti, Idris Lambang, PT Mamuang’s management team, and local residents.
This empowerment programme is expected to drive family economic growth whilst strengthening women’s roles in village development in the areas surrounding the company’s operations.
