As workplace risks continue to be a significant concern in 2026, PT Waru Kaltim Plantation (WKP), a subsidiary of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk., has reaffirmed its commitment to occupational safety and health (OSH) by holding the 2026 National OSH Month Ceremony on Wednesday (18/2/2026) at its operational site.
Workplace risks extend beyond physical accidents to include work-related stress, fatigue, and improper use of tools and technology, all of which require effective management.
For companies, OSH is more than regulatory compliance; it is a tangible commitment to ensuring every employee works and returns home safely. Leadership at all levels is essential to fostering a safe and productive work culture.
The 2026 National OSH Month Rally adopts the Ministry of Manpower’s theme, ‘Building a Professional, Reliable, and Collaborative National OSH Management Ecosystem,’ along with Astra Agro’s sub-theme, ‘Strengthening Safety and Health-Based Behavioural Transformation Through Leader Involvement in Shaping a Productive Safety and Health Culture.’

Previously,In November 2025, PT WKP received the East Kalimantan Provincial K3 Award, including the Zero Accident Award, in recognition of its consistent implementation of workplace safety standards. confirms that a company’s success is not measured solely by its production achievements, but also by its commitment to protecting its employees and ensuring safe, sustainable operations.
During the event, a Zero Accident Commitment was signed as a symbol of strengthening the collective responsibility of all company personnel. The ceremony then closed with a fire drill to improve emergency response preparedness.
The event was attended by all unit staff, department leaders, labour union representatives, the security team, the medical team, and the emergency response preparedness team. The involvement of all these elements is a concrete step toward strengthening the company’s safety culture.
