Fayaz grew up in a modest home with a hardworking family. He was known for his genuine smile, bright eyes, and endless curiosity. In his small classroom, he learned, dreamed, and eventually reached the national stage.
Few expected the youngest of six children to win a gold medal at the National English Olympics. Fayaz became a champion, beating hundreds of students from top international schools. He answered every question correctly and finished faster than anyone else.
But this achievement is about more than medals or scores. Fayaz’s story demonstrates that hope can flourish even in the most ordinary settings. He was a child who dared to dream and was given the chance to follow those dreams. Each morning, as sunlight filters through the palm trees, Fayaz gets ready for school. His primary school was built by PT Gunung Sejahtera Ibu Pertiwi (GSIP) and PT Agro Menara Rachmat (AMR), both of which are part of Astra Agro Lestari. That is where his dreams began to take shape, thanks to caring teachers who taught and guided him. Fayaz is always eager to learn and never gives up. “What makes him special is his self-belief,” said his teacher, Putri Azzahra Salsabilla, with pride. She has helped Fayaz by repeating words, reading stories, and patiently practicing English with him. His mother also supported him, giving him encouragement and confidence.

“I never expected anything. My mother always said the important thing is to keep trying and learning,” Fayaz said when asked what motivated him to become the champion. For Fayaz, just having the confidence to join competitions made his family proud. Even at a young age, he did not set high expectations for himself. This is also a result of the foundation built by Astra Agro. Beyond its business activities, the company has made another important investment: supporting the future of the nation’s children. Through sponsored schools, teacher training, and educational facilities, Astra Agro creates a safe space where the dreams of children like Fayaz can grow.
Education is a key component of Astra Agro’s commitment, benefiting both school-age children and the broader community.
Fayaz came home with a gold medal, but he brought back more than just a prize. He brought hope to children, to parents who support them, to teachers who guide them, and to a nation working for a better future.
