PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (Astra Agro), through its subsidiary PT Gunung Sejahtera Puti Pesona (GSPP), has reaffirmed its commitment to providing tangible benefits to the surrounding community.
As part of its social responsibility efforts, PT GSPP is implementing an infrastructure improvement program in Sungai Pakit Village, located in the Pangkalan Banteng District of West Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan. This program focuses on enhancing educational facilities and public spaces.
The assistance provided includes the construction of bleachers for volleyball and badminton courts at SD Negeri 1 Sungai Pakit, as well as repairs to the yard in front of the village hall and office. This facility is expected to serve as a space for children’s growth and development, as well as a venue for community social activities.
The presence of a company should not be limited to operational activities; it must also provide benefits to society. “Through this infrastructure improvement, we aim to support education and enhance the comfort of the village residents,” said PT GSPP Administrator Azizul Husni Reza.
The Head of Sungai Pakit Village, Kusairi, expressed gratitude for the contributions made by the company. “We are very thankful for PT GSPP’s efforts. This assistance is highly beneficial, not only for the school but also for the villagers who require better facilities,” said Kusairi.
Similarly, Arifin, the Community Development Officer of PT GSPP, added that this program is part of Astra Agro’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which focus on developing rural communities. “The company is committed to continuing support for education and infrastructure development. We want children to learn and exercise comfortably while providing the community with improved facilities,” explained Arifin.
Through consistent CSR programs, Astra Agro and PT GSPP hope that these infrastructure improvements will facilitate community activities and simultaneously enhance the quality of education in Sungai Pakit Village.
