PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations (PT TPP), a palm oil plantation company, once again demonstrated its commitment to the surrounding community by distributing aid to hundreds of orphaned children in Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau, in celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri.
The initiative was well received by local stakeholders. Roni, Village Head of Rimpian, Lubuk Batu Jaya Sub-district, expressed his appreciation for the company’s consistent support, particularly for orphaned children in villages surrounding the company’s operational areas.
“We would like to thank PT TPP for the assistance provided to the orphaned children in our village. This initiative is especially meaningful as Eid al-Fitr approaches. We hope such good efforts will continue in the future,” he said.
A similar sentiment was conveyed by Ismail, Head of Village Administration of Jati Rejo Village, who noted that the company’s support not only provides material assistance but also brings joy to the children during the holy month of Ramadan.
“On behalf of the Village Head, we express our appreciation for PT TPP’s care and support. We hope initiatives like this will continue and bring lasting benefits,” he added.
The aid distribution was carried out over two days, from 14 to 15 March 2026, reaching a total of 200 orphaned children from 20 villages across five sub-districts: Ukui, Lirik, Pasir Penyu, Sungai Lala, and Lubuk Batu Jaya.
This programme forms part of the company’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) commitment, while also strengthening harmonious relationships between the company and the surrounding communities.
Representing the management of PT TPP, Victor Aybund stated that the initiative has become a routine activity conducted every Ramadan as an expression of social concern and gratitude.
“Through this initiative, we aim to share happiness with orphaned children in the areas surrounding our operations. We hope the assistance provided will be beneficial and uplift their spirits in welcoming Eid al-Fitr,” he said.
He further emphasized that as part of Astra Agro Lestari, PT TPP remains committed to implementing various social programmes that create a positive impact on the community.
Meanwhile, PT TPP’s Community Development Officer (CDO), Yudita Robi Chastomo, highlighted that the initiative reflects the company’s continuous presence within the community.
According to her, such activities are aligned with the values of togetherness and social responsibility that are strongly upheld during the month of Ramadan.
“This programme reflects the company’s commitment to continue contributing and delivering meaningful benefits to the surrounding community. We hope the assistance provided will bring happiness to the children and further strengthen the relationship between the company and the community,” she said.
Through this initiative, PT TPP reaffirms its commitment to not only contributing to economic development, but also creating sustainable social value, particularly for communities surrounding its operational areas.
