PT Surya Indah Nusantara Pagi (SINP) and PT Persada Bina Nusantara Abadi (PBNA), both part of the Astra Agro Group, supported the annual traditional ritual of the Dayak Tomun tribe as a demonstration of their commitment to preserving local wisdom.
“Participation in this traditional ritual demonstrates Astra Agro’s commitment to growing with the community, respecting traditional customs, and maintaining social harmony in our operational areas,” said PT SINP-PBNA Management Representative Satria Jaya in Pangkalan Bun on Monday.
The Dayak Tomun tribe’s annual ritual, known as ‘paying vows’, honors their ancestors and expresses gratitude to God Almighty for the blessings, safety, and prosperity received throughout the year.

This activity represents a collaborative effort to preserve local wisdom amid changing times.
Satria explained that this commitment is realized by supporting traditional customs and strengthening relationships with local communities.
“This reflects Astra Agro’s commitment to grow with the community, maintain social harmony, and deliver sustainable benefits that respect cultural values, humanity, and local wisdom in every operational area,” he said.
The ritual was attended by the Head of North Arut Sub-District, the North Arut Police Chief, the North Arut Military Commander, the Heads of Pangkut, Sukarame, and Gandis Villages, community and traditional leaders, and PT SINP-PBNA management and staff.
The Traditional Leader of North Arut, Sarwin, expressed gratitude for the company’s consistent support in facilitating traditional activities, ensuring they run smoothly and meaningfully for the community.
We are grateful to the management of PT SINP-PBNA for their continued support in preserving the customs and culture of the Dayak Tomun. This support strengthens the relationship between the indigenous community and the company,’ he said.
The event concluded with a tongang binding ceremony and a communal meal, reflecting the togetherness and brotherhood central to the Dayak Tomun tradition.
