PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (Astra Agro) continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable positive impact through the Astra Mengajar programme.
The programme is carried out by Astra Agro subsidiaries in Central Kalimantan: PT Gunung Sejahtera Dua Indah (GSDI) and PT Gunung Sejahtera Yoli Makmur (GSYM).
This initiative supports Astra Agro’s Sustainability Aspirations, specifically within the education pillar, alongside environment, health, and economy.
Through this programme, Astra Agro reaffirms its commitment to providing sustainable benefits that directly impact the community.
“Through the Astra Mengajar programme, we want to instil in children the belief that their dreams are possible and worth fighting for. Education is the key that opens many opportunities, and we want to be there to nurture their enthusiasm and courage from an early age,” said Galang Bayu Amanda Putra, Administrator of PT GSDI – GSYM.
Galang explained that Astra Mengajar, held at SMP Indah Makmur, reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the next generation. The programme also fosters character and confidence.
Students gain practical examples from their surroundings and receive encouragement to pursue higher education and aspire to greater achievements.
Mega Hamzah, Principal of Indah Makmur Junior High School, expressed appreciation for the Astra Mengajar programme, noting its tangible benefits for students.
‘The Astra Mengajar programme is very beneficial for students, not only broadening their knowledge, but also motivating them to be more confident and dare to dream big. The direct presence of the company inspires them that the future can be achieved through education,’ said Hamzah.
Through Astra Mengajar, Astra Agro highlights that sustainability extends beyond business operations to include long-term investment in human resource development.
