PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, through its subsidiary in Pasangkayu Regency, West Sulawesi, is collaborating with the local government to address recent flooding in the area. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the community.
The company is working with the local government to support communities affected by the floods. As part of these efforts, Astra Agro Lestari provided three dump trucks, 400 liters of fuel, a mini excavator, and a tronton truck.
This assistance supports debris removal, restoration of road access, and infrastructure repairs in affected villages. Astra Agro Lestari subsidiaries in Pasangkayu include PT Pasangkayu, PT Letawa, PT Mamuang, PT TSL, and PT SRL1.
Pasangkayu District DPRD member Saifudin Andi Baso expressed appreciation for Astra Agro Lestari’s prompt response. He noted that the company’s involvement has been valuable in accelerating post-flood recovery for local governments and communities.
Saifudin stated that providing heavy equipment and operational logistics is essential for effective flood management in the field.
He also emphasized the need to strengthen this collaboration in the future.
“The quick response from Astra Agro Lestari is commendable. The assistance provided is very helpful, especially in opening access and clearing the affected areas, so that post-flood recovery can proceed smoothly to completion,” said Saifudin.
He added that the company’s presence during disasters demonstrates genuine social concern and aligns with the longstanding spirit of cooperation in Pasangkayu Regency.
Rudi Hermanto, Community Development Area Manager for Celebes 1 Astra Agro Lestari, explained that this assistance reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities near its operations, especially during emergencies.
Rudi stated that Astra Agro Lestari aims to support local governments in flood management to help communities resume normal activities as soon as possible.
He emphasized that resident safety and recovery remain the company’s top priorities.
“We are working to move quickly with the local government. We hope this heavy equipment and fuel assistance can speed up the recovery process for the flood-affected villages,” said Rudi.
