PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (Astra Agro) remains committed to supporting Indonesia’s development by strengthening the education sector. Through its subsidiaries, PT Gunung Sejahtera Puti Pesona (GSPP) and PT Gunung Sejahtera Dua Indah (GSDI) – Gunung Sejahtera Yoli Makmur (GSYM), Astra Agro awarded the Astra Cerdas Scholarship to 202 students from nine fostered villages. This initiative aims to develop the potential of the younger generation and prepare skilled human resources for the nation’s future.
The scholarship distribution, scheduled for December 9 to 12, 2025, is part of the Astra Cerdas Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program. Astra Agro consistently implements this program to expand access to quality education in communities near its operations.
Eighty-one students from five villages fostered by PT GSPP and 121 students from four villages fostered by PT GSDI–GSYM, including Sidomulyo, Sungai Bengkuang, Umpang, and Nangamua, received scholarships. Recipients represent all educational levels, from elementary to senior high and vocational schools.
Rohiman, Head of Kebun Agung Village, expressed appreciation for Astra Agro’s consistent support of community education. He noted that the scholarship program is meaningful for residents, providing economic assistance and inspiring children to pursue achievement and a better future.
“We would like to thank you for the assistance and attention you have given to the residents so far. Hopefully, this will be a motivation to continue doing your best,” he said.
Galang Bayu Amanda Putra, Administrator of PT GSDI–GSYM, emphasized that education is the foundation for a sustainable future in Indonesia.
Through the Astra Cerdas Program, Astra Agro seeks to go beyond its role as a business entity by actively partnering to nurture the nation’s children. The Company believes that investing in education is fundamental to fostering a resilient and competitive generation, well-prepared to contribute to regional development and Indonesia’s future.
The Astra Cerdas Scholarship is awarded to high-achieving students, including those from underprivileged backgrounds, reflecting Astra Agro’s commitment to providing equal opportunities for every child to reach their full potential.
The program is expected to deliver both immediate benefits and a lasting impact by improving education quality and shaping the character of the younger generation.
