PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk. (AALI) received the 2025 Sustainable Business Integrity Index (INSTAR) award in recognition of its commitment to good governance and sustainability. The award was presented by Tempo Data Science, in partnership with Transparency International Indonesia (TII) and the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (ISI), at the Mulia Hotel in Jakarta. The INSTAR Awards independently assess and verify the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) reports of Indonesian companies using public data and real-world practices. Danang Widoyoko, Secretary General of Transparency International Indonesia, congratulated the successful companies, stating, “Companies verified by INSTAR 2025 have gone through several strict verification stages, including media monitoring, verification of sustainability reports, and corporate resilience analysis.”
Astra Agro achieved high scores across four dimensions: Business Integrity, Environment, Social Human Rights, and Corporate Resilience. The company excelled in integrity through clear anti-corruption statements, a comprehensive code of ethics, and transparent anti-gratuity policies. In the environmental dimension, Astra Agro was recognized for effective waste management, environmental quality monitoring, and compliance with regulations and reporting requirements.
AALI was also recognized for upholding workers’ rights, implementing occupational health and safety (OHS) measures, providing regular training, and establishing effective grievance mechanisms within the Social and Human Rights dimension. In terms of corporate resilience, the company demonstrated strong financial performance, a robust capital structure, and efficient asset management. Director Tingning Sukowignjo stated that the award acknowledges Astra Agro Lestari’s consistent commitment to integrity, transparency, and sustainability across all operations.
She added that Astra Agro remains committed to improving governance, respecting human rights, and balancing business objectives with environmental stewardship. “This INSTAR 2025 award also serves as a reminder for us to continue strengthening good governance and positive impact for society and the environment. The principles of zero deforestation, peatland conservation, respect for human rights, and transparency of information to the public and stakeholders have become part of Astra Agro’s DNA,” she explained, as quoted on Wednesday (December 17, 2025).
This award further demonstrates Astra Agro Lestari’s commitment to good corporate governance, proactive anti-corruption measures, respect for labor and local communities, and environmental initiatives that support the Net Zero Emission target and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through strategic programs. The 2025 INSTAR Awards provide a significant platform for Indonesian companies to showcase the tangible implementation of sustainable and integrity-based business practices.
