PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, through its subsidiary in Pasangkayu Regency, is organizing the Celebes Education Festival (CEF) 2025.
The event features hundreds of performers from diverse fields, including art and sports, and has attracted thousands of visitors. The festival provides a platform for mental development, talent cultivation, and achievement among students from Astra Agro Lestari-affiliated schools in the Pasangkayu region.
In addition to highlighting student creativity, CEF 2025 includes participation from mentored micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) associated with PT Letawa’s subsidiaries, such as PT Tanjung Sarana Lestari, PT Pasangkayu, PT Mammuang, PT Letawa, and PT Lestari Tani Teladan, as well as the youth mentoring community Inisiasi Muda.
The Head of the Pasangkayu Regency Plantation Service, Dr. H. Abidin, M.Pd., regards CEF 2025 as a significant innovation that merits expansion on a larger scale.
He stated that the Celebes Education Festival is exemplary and should be continued at the district level, involving all schools, both those supported by the company and those outside its support. He emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration among various societal components in the coming years. “The more festivals, the better,” he said.
He also commended the students’ creativity and expressed hope that inter-school competitions would continue to foster innovation and achievement.
Dr. H. Badaruddin, M.Pd., representing the Regent of Pasangkayu, also expressed appreciation. In his remarks, he described CEF 2025 as an exceptional educational initiative, noting that it was the first event of its kind in Pasangkayu Regency and was met with considerable enthusiasm from multiple stakeholders.”Astra schools have consistently contributed to achievements at the district, provincial, and national levels, bringing honor to Pasangkayu Regency and West Sulawesi Province,” he explained.
Participation of 12 Schools
The Chairman of the CEF 2025 Committee, Abd. Majid, stated that the event involves 12 internal schools affiliated with Astra Agro Lestari, comprising 7 kindergartens, 3 elementary schools, and 2 junior high schools, in addition to several external partner schools.
“There were approximately 50 performances, with around 190 children participating across various categories,” he explained.
Unari Sarmidi, representing the management of Astra Agro Lestari Celebes 1 Area, expressed appreciation to the committee for organizing a vibrant and meaningful event.
“This event serves as a form of appreciation for the parents of the students for their role in educating their children at home, enabling the students’ talents and achievements to develop effectively,” he saidHe also conveyed his gratitude to all invited guests, including representatives of local leaders, departments in Pasangkayu Regency, school supervisors, the PGRI organization, and mentors from the Youth Initiative.ve.
“It is hoped that the Celebes Education Festival will become part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program in education, inspiring and fostering the potential and talents of students in Astra schools,” he concluded.
