The Lirik Police Station, in partnership with PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations (TPP), a subsidiary of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, organized a tree planting and outreach event at Tunggal Lestari Private Junior High School (SMPS) on Thursday.
The event supported the Riau Police Chief’s green policing program and commemorated National Tree Day, an annual observance on November 21st . Lirik Police Chief AKP Novris H. Simanjuntak led the event, which was attended by key stakeholders.
“Thank you to PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations and SMPS Tunggal Lestari for organizing this activity and supporting the Riau Police Chief’s program,” said the Lirik Police Chief. He noted that the success of the Riau Police’s initiatives was made possible through collaboration among all parties.
He expressed hope that collective tree planting would lead to a greener and more sustainable environment. This initiative benefits the community and encourages ongoing environmental stewardship.
Victor Aybund, Administrator of PT TPP, stated that the event was a positive step toward building environmental awareness.
“We greatly appreciate the initiative of the Lirik Police Station, which not only focuses on security but also actively promotes environmental awareness and character education for students,” said Victor.
He emphasized PT TPP’s strong commitment to environmental conservation and community development as part of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk. He encouraged continued collaboration to positively impact the younger generation, particularly in the Indragiri Hulu region. He noted that the event demonstrated effective synergy among the police, government, education sector, and private companies.
He added that this initiative supports a shared commitment to creating a green, safe, healthy, and empowered environment as a long-term investment for Inhu.
Attendees included the Lirik Subdistrict Head, Sungai Sagu Village Head, PT TPP Administrator, PT TPP CDO, PT TPP CSR Assistant, students from SMPS Tunggal Lestari, Little Police officers, and school conservation ambassadors. Following the tree planting, the event included sessions on the dangers of bullying, drug abuse, and the importance of following traffic regulations, all of which are significant issues for young people.
