PT Tri Buana Mas (TBM), a subsidiary of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, distributed two forms of aid in its fostered village, Buas-Buas Hilir Village, located in the Candi Laras Utara District of Tapin Regency. The assistance included poultry feed for local farmer groups and regular support for the village’s Posyandu (integrated health service post).
PT TBM provided 1,000 kilograms of laying hen feed to local farmer groups. This initiative, part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, is aimed at alleviating the financial burden on farmers who face rising feed costs. It also aims to boost the community’s economy through the livestock sector, as stated in a press release from PT TBM Public Relations on Tuesday.
“We are very grateful for PT TBM’s attention and support, and we hope this program can be sustainable to improve the community’s economy,” said Muharram Rijali Ihsan, the Village Companion for the Candi Laras Utara District.
Ahmad Yani, a manager of a poultry farm in the village, shared a similar sentiment, emphasizing the significant financial strain of feed costs. He noted that with a chicken population of 500, they consume more than one 50-kilogram bag of feed each day.
“This assistance is incredibly helpful for us in maintaining the sustainability of our business,” he remarked.
PT TBM CSR Assistant Esti Setyaningsih explained that this support is part of the Astra Kreatif program, one of the company’s CSR pillars.
“We hope this community economic empowerment program continues to expand and provide sustainable benefits. This aligns with Astra Agro’s commitment to making a meaningful contribution to the well-being of the surrounding community,” she stated.
In addition to supporting the livestock sector, PT TBM also provided routine aid to the Posyandu in Buas-Buas Hilir Village during the same event. This assistance is intended to provide balanced nutritional supplements for toddlers, aiming to prevent and address issues related to stunting. The village government representative, Andi Taufik, the Village Secretary of Buas-Buas Hilir, received the aid.
“We greatly appreciate PT TBM’s concern; this assistance not only supports the health of young children but also strengthens the Posyandu services in our village,” Andi Taufik stated.
These two social initiatives highlight PT TBM’s role as part of Astra Agro, which strives to benefit all community members, aligning with the company’s mission to grow together with the community. Through concrete actions such as empowering layer farmers and supporting the health of young children, PT TBM aims to ensure its presence continues to have a positive impact, both economically and in terms of health.
