Elementary and middle school students from PT Gunung Sejahtera Ibu Pertiwi (GSIP) and PT Agro Menara Rachmat (AMR), both subsidiaries of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (Astra Agro), achieved remarkable success at the Taekwondo Championship Pracadet Rektor Unda Cup 2025. The event took place in Sampit, East Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan, on August 30–31, 2025.
In a competition featuring hundreds of young athletes from various regions, the students trained by PT GSIP and PT AMR schools excelled and dominated the arena, winning a total of 10 medals, including several gold, silver, and bronze across different categories.
Among the standout performances, Ayudhia Magistra Ararindra secured 1st place in the Pracadet Under 30 category, Lalu Fayaz Abdurrahman triumphed in the Pracadet Under 36 category, and Maria Fitriani Juita took gold in the Female Athlete category. Additionally, seven other students contributed to the medal count in various events.
This success demonstrates that even in a palm oil plantation environment, the elementary and middle schools affiliated with Astra Agro Lestari can effectively compete against schools with greater access to facilities. This aligns with the school’s vision of continuously fostering students’ potential, both academically and through extracurricular activities.
“Alhamdulillah, this achievement is the result of consistent training, teamwork, and strong parental support. We are proud that the children displayed remarkable courage and fighting spirit. We hope this accomplishment inspires other students to keep striving for success,” said Ahmad Rofik, Principal of SMP Astra Agro Lestari.
The coaches also expressed pride in the students’ achievements. Fahmi Latif, a member of the coaching team, remarked that this success resulted from their collective hard work. “The collaboration between coaches and students went smoothly, with minimal obstacles. We hope this positive trend continues, leading to even more achievements in the future,” he stated.
With these victories at this prestigious championship in Central Kalimantan, Astra Agro reaffirms its commitment to developing young talent while enhancing its role as a company dedicated to education and character building for the nation’s youth.
