Two subsidiaries of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AAL), namely PT Sumber Kharisma Persada (SKP) and PT Cipta Narada Lestari (CNL), have achieved significant recognition from the Peridan Village community in the Sangkulirang District of East Kutai Regency (Kutim).
The award, signed directly by the Regent of Kutim, serves as an acknowledgment of the companies’ contributions to the development, guidance, and empowerment of rural communities.
Poniso Suryo Renggono, Assistant for Government and Public Welfare at the Kutim Regional Secretariat, stated that this award is a result of the community’s gratitude. He emphasized that the company’s contributions have brought direct benefits to the residents.
“The assistance, both moral and material, has positively impacted various activities in the village,” Poniso remarked in an official release on Friday, August 29, 2025. He added that the company’s commitment motivates residents to continue developing positive initiatives.
For the Peridan community, this award is clear evidence that the company’s presence goes beyond mere business interests. PT SKP and PT CNL have effectively addressed the residents’ needs through their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.
These programs include strengthening village capacity, economic empowerment, education, and health initiatives.
Siprianus Kelen, the head of Peridan Village, expressed appreciation for the strong relationship developed with the companies. “This is not just an award; it is proof that the community and the company can grow together. The village cannot thrive on its own. The business world can only succeed if it progresses hand in hand with society,” he stated.
Ricky Oktavianus, the administrator for PT SKP and PT CNL, expressed gratitude for the recognition, affirming that the award motivates them to continue delivering tangible benefits to local residents.
“We believe that the company’s existence should add value to society, not only by supporting activities but also by encouraging village independence,” Ricky explained. He also mentioned that the spirit of mutual cooperation and collaboration will continue to be fostered alongside the village government, aligning with Astra Agro Lestari’s mission to contribute to national development and prosperity.
The award from the Peridan Village community confirms that the partnership between the business sector and local residents can function harmoniously. Through this synergy, companies not only operate effectively but also create sustainable social and economic impacts.
