Astra Agro continues to show its commitment to making sustainable contributions to the community, this time by actively supporting road infrastructure improvements in Karang Mulya Village, Pangkalan Banteng District, Kotawaringin Barat Regency.
This initiative is carried out through its subsidiaries: PT Gunung Sejahtera Dua Indah (GSDI), PT Gunung Sejahtera Yoli Makmur (GSYM), and PT Gunung Sejahtera Puti Pesona (GSPP).
Astra Agro participated in road filling activities that were conducted through mutual cooperation among the villages in the area. This effort was the result of coordination with the Public Works Department and received full support from the Pangkalan Banteng Police Station, as well as the community and local companies.
The section of the road being repaired is located on the Karang Mulya Road axis, which is a vital inter-regional route that has suffered significant damage. In this self-funded activity, Astra Agro, through PT GSDI, PT GSPP, and PT GSYM, provided heavy machinery and operators to ensure the work was completed smoothly and efficiently.
“This repair is an emergency measure to fill the potholes that endanger users, especially during the rainy season. We hope this will reduce the risk of accidents and serve as a temporary solution until permanent repairs can be made,” said Sigit, the Head of Pangkalan Banteng District.
Separately, Ronal, the Community Development Officer (CDO) of PT GSDI GSYM, emphasized that this collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to being actively present and making positive contributions to the surrounding community.
“We strive to maintain open communication with the government and the community to ensure that our presence truly brings benefits,” he explained.
“We want the community to directly experience the positive impact of Astra Agro, especially in terms of infrastructure that supports daily life,” he continued.
Ronal stated that Astra Agro’s support for road repairs demonstrates how the synergy between companies, the government, and the community can lead to tangible solutions for local challenges.
“In addition to fulfilling our social responsibility, this reflects Astra Agro’s vision of growing together and becoming a sustainable partner in regional development,” he emphasized.
