PT Bhadra Cemerlang (PT BCL), a company operating in the palm oil industry, once again demonstrates its commitment to human resource development in its operational areas. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in the field of education, PT BCL provides scholarships to outstanding and underprivileged students in Bintang Ara Village, Tabalong Regency.
“Education is an important foundation for shaping an excellent generation.” We want to provide equal opportunities for village children so they can achieve their dreams,” said Mochammad Nurul Huda, CSR representative of PT BCL.
Through its corporate education foundation, PT BCL nurture the subsidiary’s school but also actively involved in the development of educational facilities in the surrounding plantation areas — starting from kindergarten to high school levels.
The company also provides tangible support such as incentives for honorary teachers, school quality improvement programs (P2M), teacher training, and assistance with facilities and infrastructure.
One of the scholarship recipients is Bunga Astuti, a student at SMA Negeri 1 Bintang Ara. Her achievements in the field of Natural Sciences (IPA) have brought her to represent the school in various county-level science olympiads.
Bunga is not the only one — six other students from the same school also receive financial support from PT BCL, both for academic and non-academic achievements.
The principal of SMA Negeri 1 Bintang Ara, Sukarnadi, welcomed this collaboration. “This program has become an extraordinary motivation for the students.” “We have been collaborating for seven years, and the benefits are very tangible, including the teacher training that the company once facilitated,” he said.
In agreement, the Head of SDN 1 Bintang Ara, Hermansyah, also appreciated the support from PT BCL, which has contributed to the sustainability of basic education in their village.
“The role of teachers at the forefront of education is very crucial.” With the incentives and assistance from PT BCL, our enthusiasm for guiding the children has increased even more,” he said.
The PT BCL education CSR program not only reaches Bintang Ara Village but also touches seven other villages such as Bentot, Mawani, Lalap, Kotam, Gerunggung, Kambitin Raya, and Wayau.
This commitment is part of the company’s concrete efforts to promote community welfare through the improvement of education quality.
