PT Tunggal Perkasa Plantations (TPP), a palm oil plantation company under the Astra Agro Lestari (AALI) group, recently conducted a transformative fire extinguishing simulation for 136 children from 10 Early Childhood Education (PAUD) centers in Lirik District, Inhu Regency.
This inspiring educational activity, which beautifully combines the pillars of education and environmental awareness, took place at the Sungai Sagu Village Office on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, with enthusiastic support from the local government, led by Acting Village Head Endah Maulud.
“Children gain invaluable experiences that not only educate them but also ignite their awareness of personal and environmental safety,” said Gustiawati, Head of PAUD Ananda. She highlighted that this activity serves as a joyful and meaningful learning method, especially for young children.
The participating children hailed from various villages, representing 10 early childhood education centers (PAUD). These include PAUD Ananda in Sungai Sagu Village, PAUD Sejahtera in Sukajadi Village, PAUD Kasih Ibu in Mekarsari Village, PAUD Mentari in Redangseko Village, and PAUD Tumpuan in Banjar Balam Village. The simulation was helmed by the Emergency Response Readiness Team (TKTD) of PT TPP, led by Ujang Rahaya, with support from Community Development Officer (CDO) Yudita Robi Chastomo and CSR Assistant Panji Eka Wisnuaji.
“This activity is immensely beneficial for children as an introduction to the dangers of fire and how to handle emergencies,” stated Acting Head of Sungai Sagu Village, Endah Maulud. He expressed deep appreciation for PT TPP’s pivotal efforts and hopes that similar activities will be conducted regularly, showcasing the powerful synergy between the company and the community.
Victor Aybund, Administrator of PT TPP, affirmed that this initiative is part of the company’s sustainability strategy to uplift the surrounding community. He firmly believes that early education is vital for cultivating a society that values safety and environmental consciousness.
“Through programs like this, we aspire to instill positive values in the future generations of Indonesia,” Victor stated. He also highlighted that the TKTD team of PT TPP serves as a dedicated standby unit, ready to support the community during emergencies, thus becoming a vital part of the local resilience system.
By embracing a fun yet educational approach, PT TPP emphasizes its role not only as a business entity but as an inspiring partner in nurturing a generation of young people who are environmentally aware and prepared to face emergencies with confidence.
