PT Agro Nusa Abadi (ANA), an oil palm plantation company, received two awards during the Proper Environmental Award Night 2025, held in Palu, Central Sulawesi, on Thursday, April 24. The accolades were granted in recognition of PT ANA’s exceptional contributions to environmental preservation within the oil palm plantation and palm oil sectors.
Governor Anwar Hafid of Central Sulawesi articulated the significance of collaboration between government entities and business stakeholders in fostering environmentally sustainable development. He remarked, “This award serves not only as a symbol of appreciation but also as an impetus for the business community to enhance their commitment to environmental sustainability. Our objective is to cultivate a Central Sulawesi that is both developed and environmentally sustainable.”
Governor Hafid likened Central Sulawesi to a precious entity that requires diligent guardianship and care, emphasizing that while the exploration of natural resources is necessary, it must be approached in a manner that safeguards the environment.
Oka Arimbawa, the Community Development Area Manager of PT ANA, expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to innovating within sustainable business practices that positively impact the environment and surrounding communities. “This award motivates us to uphold our environmental commitments. PT ANA will persist in its efforts to operate in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner for the benefit of the future,” stated Arimbawa.
The 2025 Environmental Award Night acknowledged 67 companies that exhibited exemplary performance in environmental management during the assessment period of 2023 to 2024. The award recipients encompass a diverse range of industries operating within the Central Sulawesi region.
PT ANA has been active in North Morowali Regency since 2006, significantly contributing to the developmental landscape of Morowali and Central Sulawesi. In response to local government initiatives aimed at regional development, PT ANA has participated in job creation efforts and has stimulated the regional economy. Areas previously deemed unviable for development have since experienced substantial progress, all while maintaining a steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability.
