PT Sari Aditya Loka (PT SAL) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting local community development.
As an Astra Agro Lestari group oil palm plantation company operating in Jambi Province, PT SAL continues to strive to open access to education and skills for the younger generation.
This includes people from indigenous communities and remote areas. Through various coaching programmes, PT SAL empowers young people to develop, compete, and truly contribute to the nation and state.
Among them is Kurniah, a bright student from Suku Anak Dalam (SAD). As a Diploma 3 Nursing student at the Jambi Ministry of Health Polytechnic (Poltekkes Kemenkes), she is currently embarking on an internship at Hasan Sadikin Hospital, one of the largest national referral hospitals in Indonesia.
This opportunity allows her to apply her nursing knowledge in the real world, collaborating with medical professionals and learning about a modern, high-standard healthcare system.
This experience is set to broaden Kurniah’s horizons, shaping her into a competent and empathetic medical professional.
“Kurniah’s achievement fills us with pride. It’s not merely an accomplishment but the culmination of our long-term coaching programme with the local community,” said Fenti Rakhmawati, education coordinator of PT SAL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Fenti believes that access to quality education is essential for nurturing a more advanced and developed society. She sees Kurniah as a symbol of the immense potential within children from indigenous communities like SAD, ready to excel and make significant contributions to crucial sectors such as health.
Her hope is that through education, traditional and social barriers can be overcome, fostering opportunities for a more inclusive and balanced future.
PT SAL Administrator Rian Rizaldi Kurniawan emphasized that every child possesses great potential. No matter their background, PT SAL aims to create pathways for growth and development, encouraging them to return and uplift their communities.
“Kurniah embodies that spirit. We will continue to support more young people to dream big and make those dreams a reality,” Rian Rizaldi expressed.
On the occasion of Kartini Day, Kurniah shines as a modern-day Kartini, exemplifying unyielding spirit and determination as she seeks to transform her life.
Despite growing up in challenging circumstances, Kurniah demonstrates that the future is not dictated by one’s origins, but by the bravery to persevere.
Her story serves as an inspiration to the younger generation, especially Suku Anak Dalam, urging them to dream boldly and pursue education with fervor.
With a mindset of learning and the right support, nothing can limit an individual’s journey toward progress and development.
