PT Sukses Tani Nusasubur (STN) and PT Waru Kaltim Plantation (WKP), part of Astra Agro Lestari (AALI), collaborated with the Government of Penajam Paser Utara (PPU) Regency in “Apel Gelar Pasukan dan Peralatan dan Simulasi Menghadap Bencana Hydrometeorology,” Wednesday (13/11).
The activity, which was held at the PPU Regent’s Office field, aimed to increase synergy between the government, companies, and communities in facing disasters due to climate change, such as floods, landslides, and forest and land fires.
Pj Bupati PPU, Muhammad Zainal Arifin, emphasized the importance of this synergy in improving regional preparedness. “With strong collaboration with PT WKP, PT STN, and all stakeholders, we will be more resilient in facing disasters,” he said.
Equipment and troops from various parties, including BPBD, TNI-Polri, and 12 companies, were deployed in the rally and simulation. PT STN’s administrator, Victor Aybund, emphasized the company’s commitment to harmonizing disaster mitigation. Meanwhile, PT WKP’s administrator, Eko Andrianto, mentioned the readiness of the company’s disaster response team to support this step.
This activity is expected to strengthen the PPU’s readiness to deal with hydrometeorological impacts while reflecting the spirit of mutual cooperation of all parties to realize a disaster-resilient PPU.
