PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk Participated in Taman Pintar Yogyakarta |
Yogyakarta – PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk participated in opening a new zone at Taman Pintar (The Science Park) of Yogyakarta. Mayor of Yogyakarta H. Herry Zudianto launched the new "Zona Agro" on Friday, June 11 2010, accompanied by both President Director of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk Widya Wiryawan and Chief of Corporate Communication PT Astra International Tbk Arief Istanto. The "Zona Agro" which supported by PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk is aim to introducing environment friendly operating process in a palm oil plantation.

“Our participation here is a positive step to share the information regarding the significant contributions of the palm oil industry to the national economic development, especially for the people welfare. Nowadays, Indonesia is the biggest crude palm oil producer of the world,” said Widya Wiryawan in his speech during opening ceremony of the Zona Agro Taman Pintar in Yogyakarta.
Meanwhile, Mayor of Yogyakarta H. Herry Zudianto appreciated PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk on its support to Taman Pintar Yogyakarta. Herry said, Taman Pintar as a science center is a place for expression, appreciation, and creation in a pleasant situation. “Taman Pintar also concerns in implementing one of Ki Hajar Dewantara’s lessons: Niteni (to understand), Niroake (to follow), and Nambahi (to improve).
The Zona Agro is divided into two parts. The inside part displaying palm oil plantation ambiance, and the other part consist of video about palm oil plantation process and interactive media. In the inside part, there are replica of oil palm trees, fresh fruit bunch (FFB), angkong (equipment to transport FFB), and robotic owls. Meanwhile through interactive media, visitor will learn about palm oil plantation process: start of land clearing, seeding, harvesting, production process in palm oil mill, and about CPO transportation system as well.(TM) |
