E-Company Award 2009
Jakarta, 29 October 2009 – Become A Role Model in Agribusiness Company is a prestigious award achieved by PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AAL). This time, AAL was selected as one of the best companies in information technology innovation to support the company's business performance.

Prestigious award of in the field of information technology (IT) in 2009 came from Warta Ekonomi. Business magazine, published bi-weekly hosts E-Company Award 2009. This is a tribute to the best companies in Indonesia that successfully implement information technology that could push the company's business performance.

"The role of information technology has led to the area of transformation, not only as a business  support only,"  said 
M. Arief, Manager of Research Warta Ekonomi, in his statement about the E-Company Award 2009.

In addition to the 27 companies chosen as finalists in the E-Company Award 2009, PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk won a special award as "The Best Business Innovation & Business Performance in Agro Industry". Jury E-Company Award 2009 positively assessing the performance of AAL from the application of Plantation Management System (PMS), Geography Information and Management System (GIMS), as well as Enterpise Resource Planning (ERP).

Awan Karnajaya, Chief of Information and Human Capital Management, said the AAL management focuses its IT strategy on the plantation activities by applying the GIMS. This application is a collaboration between the Geography Information System based on satellite imagery with the concept of performance appraisal, Balanced Scorecard (BSC) that is processed in the PMS.

"This system basically presents a variety of information and performance indicators related to three factors: people, processes, and technology," Awan said as quoted by Warta Ekonomi November 2009 edition.

Dedi Kurniadi, IT Head AAL, said the role of information technology as an enabler business process from end to end. In that role, IT can make business process changes for the match SOP (standard operation procedure) and the right policy.

With new breakthroughs are, Dedi said, expected that business processes can be more effective AAL and always on the standards. "So the company business processes can be an example for other agribusiness companies," said Dedi who received plaques E-Company Award 2009 at Hotel Mulia Jakarta, Thursday (29/10).

Appreciation E-Company Award 2009 is quite prestigious. There are 11 judges who assess the implementation of IT companies such as Heru Sutadi (Telecommunications Regulation Committee Member BRTI), Joseph F. Luhukay (Vice President Director of PT Bank Danamon Tbk), and other IT experts.

In its implementation, said Dedi, the application of information technology in the AAL refers to the winning concept that the Company Strategy Map will be implemented with people leadership development, process improvement, excellence sustainable, accelerated by integrated systems, and integrated alignment.

Dedi said, AAL management applying information systems as one important part in accelerating the company's business processes facilitate the planning, operation, and analysis. One of the IT implementation, which refers to the mission of the company's vision is the implementation of PMS, GIMS, and ERP. It is expected that the application of appropriate information systems company characteristics can improve the efficiency because of operational management synergy, finance, logistics, human resources and systems within a single geographic framework of integrated information systems.
