AAL Awarded Indonesia’s Most Admired Companies (IMAC) 2009 for Agrobusiness Category

JAKARTA – PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk awarded Indonesia’s Most Admired Companies (IMAC) 2009 for agrobusiness category by Frontier Business Consulting and BusinessWeek Indonesia magazine. This award aimed to allows companies to track their positions and learn how to build their corporate image, as well as how to compete in both global and local markets.

Handi Irawan, chairman of Frontier Consulting Group, said IMAC 2009 based on survey of 1,860 people from customers, employees, investors, to journalists in both Jakarta and Surabaya. Based on the 2009 IMAC survey, PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk showed its best performance in all 4 dimensions (quality, performance, responsibility, and attractiveness). It is proved that PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk are capable of attracting and keeping the best of talent, have customers focus, and invest heavily into the future in terms of technology, innovation, and human capital development.

“The company with the best corporate image, surely have the best quality of their products and also the best program of social and environment responsibility,’ said Irawan in his speech on Awarding Ceremony of the IMAC 2009 in Jakarta, (12/8).

Director of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk Joko Supriyono appreciates this achievement. “We are glad to receive this award as a form of recognition on our commitment to implementing our mission to contribute to the nation’s development and prosperity,” said Joko in an interview with Pass FM shortly prior attending Awarding Ceremony of The IMAC 2009.

Positive corporate image of PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk was developing through many kind of CSR (corporate social responsibility) programs. One of the most innovative CSR program is IGA which stand for Income Generating Activity. In the year of 2008, the company had assisted 4,015 families in 45 villages in Sulawesi to achieve their aspirations of owning oil palm plantations and to improve their economic welfare.

PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk is the only agrobusiness company to receive this award three years in a row (2007, 2008, and 2009). Beside awarded IMAC 2009, PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk also selected as one of the nominee for The Most Sustainable Corporate Image 2009.(TM)
